What is “Reality”?

24 Nov

As I type this, I am in a massive, yet cozy, warm and comfortable “cavern”. It is my cavern. Only to myself. It shelters me from the outside elements of cold wind, snow, critters that might like to eat me, and most importantly it shelters me from other human beings. I make my own rules in my cavern. I wake up when I want, I eat when I want, I allow in only those I choose to. There are no “outside world” rules that effect me here in my cavern. The world is what I make it.

Is this my reality? Or is there another reality which I’m part of?

It seems to me that reality is perfect, pure, and a fabulous thing when not messed with. Humans and all animals for that matter are on this planet for only 3 things. Eat, survive, reproduce. That is reality. The building blocks upon which all the “extra things” stack themselves upon and complicate and screw up reality.

Why is it, that mankind can’t just stay to those 3 things? Why is it, that we have to complicate our realities with family, friends, money, relationships, work, and anyone we encounter outside our own individual dwellings? This is the problem which causes all stresses, conflict, and anything other than a peaceful, happy, life.

Does my reality really need to be sucker punched by the grocery checker with a bad attitude? Do I have to have my incredible peace encroached upon by the person at the post office who is stuck in her own reality full of hate for her life? Do family relationships need to play such a large role in a persons life if they are going to cause questioning of my reality? Does work have to consume such a large part of ones daily reality, causing so many to lose focus of the core things that are really important in life?

I stay in my cavern mostly. I am happy in my cavern, mostly. To venture out of my cavern means I will no doubt come in contact with someone who lives in a reality I really don’t care to be part of or have it’s negativivity come anywhere near my reality. I try to protect my reality all that I can from the bad, the evil, and those that like to snatch others nice realities just for sport or selfish reasons.

Reality can be a tricky thing in that society tells us that in order to be happy we are to engage other people as much as possible with kindness and well wishes. I’m not so sure about that. I tend to think that more people would be happy if less people were to intrude upon each other’s reality’s. How about not wanting to get to know me. How about not expecting my reality to be the same as yours and trying to contaminate mine. How about each of us, being really careful about who, and how we let others touch our realities. I think with a little less interaction with each other the world just might be a happier place.

When you go through customs don’t you ever fantasize you are James Bond on a secret mission sneaking into a foreign country with a fake passport and all kinds of sneaky gadgets created by Q the gadget maker? Well I do!

Today I crossed from one country to another. And yes, it was just as dramatic as when James Bond sneaks into a hostile, enemy country, under an assumed name and in disguise. I promise! They almost discovered me!

Well maybe not exactly the same, since it took all of about 20 seconds. “Where are you going” the evil border guard with machine guns, and sinister non-expressive look said…..”How long will you be there”, “What is the purpose of your trip”, and all while he was clicking, clicking, clicking into his computer trying to discover my secret identity! Thanks to Q, I made it past the dozen or so barking German Shepherds sniffing at the adhesive which was holding on my new face, beard, eyelashes, and complete reshaping of my facial structure into a Fabio look alike. The voice chip under my collar was a winner, changing my voice patterns, which if I had not put in place last minute, no doubt I would have been discovered by their voice recognition database and certainly blown my cover! It was a close call and pretty intense but I made it and am now in the agency “safe house” blending into a non-nondescript neighborhood deep into enemy territory.

It’s tough being a secret agent and managing a world renowned blog. Sorry to all my fans for my absence the last few days. The agency had me holed up with my fake family before crossing the border today while Q perfected my disguise. Needless to say, while I love my fake family for the legitimacy they gave me in being undercover, the time proved to be counter productive due to my fake nieces being like hummingbirds on crack and me being the juicy flower! If it weren’t for my secret spy training on how to deal with such situations I might have hurled myself in front of a bus! (Secret spy LOL!)

Tomorrow I will be back on the road heading to my destination where my mission will start in earnest. Surly it won’t be an easy trip but Q has provided me a map of land mines, and I’m to be provided with a guide for part of the trip to give the illusion of a family just headed down the road to grandmothers house.

Wish me luck, but then again, my name is Bond, James Bond, secret agent and I don’t need luck, I make it!

Hello world! Welcome to my EarthZebra Blog!

30 Oct

Well, here it is!   The long awaited, by few, and hopeful that the day would never come. by many……Blog!

I’m a little torn between between maintaining my cherished privacy and opening myself up to (Insert bad things here)! But what the heck, I have no secrets and am willing to give it a try for awhile.

So, since this is the beginning, I might as well start at the beginning.  Or close to it!  Here I am!. Aren’t I cute!  🙂

I’ve lived a pretty interesting life. I’ve been rich, poor, on top of the world, and at the bottom. I’ve lived in big cities and small. I’ve traveled to far off lands witnessing amazing things and learned much from whats right in front of me.

I think all of us live our lives seeing it in ways that only we know individually. No two people see the same thing exactly the same way. This is what makes us all unique and this world so interesting.

I just hope that my uniqueness is one that is made of the “right stuff”!

I’ll try to post at least once a week if not more!

Have a great day!
